Sergeant (Ret.) Alan Wilkett
Sergeant (Ret.) Alan Wilkett recently retired from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office after nearly three decades in law enforcement, including distinguished service in patrol, major crimes, narcotics, child abuse, investigations, crime prevention, and community relations. His proven record of leadership as Chief Deputy, Captain, Commander, and Director of Public Safety reflects a stellar career marked by integrity and commitment.
Alan has devoted much of his career to the fight against human trafficking and the sexual exploitation of children. He has trained and instructed law enforcement officers, federal and state agencies, NGOs, faith-based organizations, and community groups across the country. He is a founding leader of the Pasco County Human Trafficking Task Force, the Human Trafficking Commission, and Light Up the Night, initiatives that bring communities together to combat modern-day slavery.
Alan’s relentless pursuit of justice and compassion for survivors has been recognized at the highest levels. He was named Florida’s Human Trafficking Law Enforcement Official of the Year in 2017 by Attorney General Pam Bondi and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Florida Crime Prevention Association in 2019.
In addition to hundreds of hours of specialized training, Alan holds certifications in Human Trafficking Investigations, Cryptocurrencies, Dark Web and Social Media Investigations, Cybercrime, and CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design). He is widely recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in human trafficking, presenting before the Florida Senate, law enforcement and survivor conferences, and numerous civic and faith-based organizations.
Alan’s work has been featured on television, radio, and digital platforms, including an appearance on Fox News Network’s Weekend Report with Jon Scott. He was also privileged to be featured in the documentary Blind Eyes Opened.
Now retired from active duty, Alan continues to co-lead the Human Trafficking Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to ending modern slavery through prevention, education, and survivor support. He is honored to serve as an Advisor with Christy’s Cause and an expert contributor to the WeCare@FGCU Training Program, bringing his vast experience and unwavering passion to the mission of protecting vulnerable populations and equipping frontline professionals.
