Wade Williams
Wade Williams is the Sergeant of the Collier County Sheriff’s Office Special Crimes Bureau Exploitation Section. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Criminology from Florida State University. He began his Law Enforcement career in 2003 as a patrol Deputy and Detective.
Wade has been with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office for over fifteen years and has extensive specialized training in the areas of leadership, community relations, and investigations. He is responsible for managing Collier County’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Federal Task Force, the Missing Persons Unit, the Internet Exploitation Unit, and the Human Trafficking Unit, is the Supervisor for sworn Detectives and Civilian Deputies, a Member of Child Abduction Response Team (CART), and the on the Human Trafficking Task Force for the Middle District of Florida. His dedication and hard work have resulted in the arrest and prosecution of numerous sex predators.
Wade has received many awards for his work including the Phoenix Award in 2016 for saving a life, the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year award from the Florida Attorney General’s Office in 2019, and a “Teamwork” award for successful supervision of a multi-jurisdictional Human Trafficking investigation and mass arrest operation stemming from this investigation that resulted in the apprehension of 15 suspects for human trafficking related crimes dubbed “Operation Human Freedom.”
Wade is passionate about teaching other law enforcement officers and speaks regularly in the community where he and Christy met. They share a passion to eradicate child sex trafficking and exploitation and have enjoyed collaborating on training events such as the annual Human Trafficking Symposium. Wade said, “Working with our most vulnerable victims has given me the greatest sense of accomplishment than any other position in my career.”
